A Cornish Getaway

I love exploring new places in Cornwall. We can so easily fall into the trap of thinking we need to hop on a plane and jet off to someplace far away to be able to relax,

but actually, there are so many incredible places right on the doorstep.Β This weekend we celebrated Josh’s Birthday. I had been keeping it a secret from him for weeks, and felt like I was about to explode! I took him to the Roseland Peninsular, not far from where we live in Falmouth. We crossed on the King Harry Ferry and a short drive later we arrived in the picturesque fishing village of Portloe. We spent the night in The Lugger Hotel, we wined and dined and took full advantage of having absolutely nothing to do, and no schedule to stick to. It was bliss.

  1. I agree that some of the loveliest getaways can be right on our doorstep! My partner and I love exploring around our local area and last summer we ventured a little further out to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. We didn’t stay overnight but it felt just like being on holiday. Cornwall is next on our list – although we will probably have to stay the night there! Lovely photos and words.
